What Our Customers Say

S Hughes, London

“ I am extremely happy with my bookshelves, thank you. Philip was very helpful throughout the process, taking the time to talk me through my options on the phone and sending me a personalised quote. I also appreciated how thorough your assembly instructions were and how quickly I received my delivery. I will certainly purchase from Shelfbar again in the future and have no hesitation in recommending your service to others. ”

Julie Wardrope, Ayrshire

“ The shelves look fantastic in my kitchen, my partner even managed to put them up by himself (with a little help from me) and he is not a DIYer. The drill has been sitting in the hut for years, unused. Thanks again, great shelves at a fantastic price. I would definitely recommend your company to family and friends. ”

Simon De La Hoyde, Dorking, Surrey

“ I am very happy with my alcove shelves. Three things stood out: 1. The quality of the product is fantastic. The finished look is excellent. 2. The ease of installation is a revelation. Far easier than bracketed shelves. 3. Telephone and email communication from Shelbar is first class. Measuring and installation questions were answered promptly and clearly. ”

Mrs P Reynolds, Surrey

“ Just to let you know that I received the alcove shelves safely and securely and I have fitted them. My son is a carpenter and assumed he would have to fit them for me, but with such superb instructions, I fitted them myself (secretly), while he was out (I am quite a practical person anyway). I found the ordering process, delivery and instructions all very clear and simple and am very pleased with the assistance you were happy to provide in getting them right for me. They fit perfectly with no on-site adjustments required, are caulked and ready for painting and I am thrilled with the look of them. The instructions couldn’t have been clearer, or more easy to follow and probably the best DIY product I have ever purchased. Thank you to you and your team! ”

Ken Slee, York

“ Yes, the shelf is super. Easy and quick to fit and now painted white. Would certainly buy again. Couldn’t find anything similar (ie right length, curved edges and floating) in any local DIY store and wasted valuable time and diesel going round them all before finding your website. Thanks for your help. ”

Gary Baldwin

“ Just a short note to say how delighted I am with the 2 part bespoke sized book shelf you manufactured for me. Unpacked, put up with ease (even for a DIY amateur), now painted, sanded and fully loaded. The comprehensive instructions were spot on and the biscuit jointing aligned perfectly. When empty it all but disappeared from view, which is exactly the effect we were looking for. A splendid product and terribly well engineered. Many Thanks. ”

Sarah Holmes, Herts

“ Really happy with the quality of your product – I needed some heavy duty shelves for my office but wanted them to look good too. This product ticks all those boxes! I was also really impressed with the tools included – a nice surprise/service. I am a DIY novice and got a friend to help me but having read through the instructions I think even I might have been able to put them up. Really comprehensive and very clear. Thank you!! ”

Michael Finch Sheffield , Yorkshire

“ I was very happy how I was dealt with by Shelfbar from start to finish. I had a 1 to 1 email service when sending in my sizes and pricing options that I found was tailored exactly to me, and not some generic response. I was given plenty of options and this helped my decision easier. The product came expertly packed with all instructions that made it simple to install and set up. I would strongly recommend Shelfbar to future customers. ”

Michael Durbridge, Berkshire

“ Was incredibly impressed with the service, quality and fittings for the shelves you supplied. They look amazing and I am very pleased with the end result. I would have no hesitation in recommending you to my friends and family! ”

Mahua Nandi , London

“ Yes, very happy – we bought the one narrow shelf to go over a fireplace alcove, it fits very well, was very simple to install and feels solid despite the fact that I installed it! I really liked the fact that you provided the whole installation kit, for an amateur it gives a lot of confidence to know that we’re using the right drill bits, screw sizes etc. The service you provide feels like you’ve thought through every little detail and again gives a lot of confidence. I can’t think of anything you could do to improve, just don’t lose the attention to detail that you’ve got now! I would definitely buy the product again. ”

How strong are Shelfbar shelves?

We could answer this question in several ways, but we think “can they take my books?” is the load measure most people want to know.

All Shelfbar® designs have been tested on a range of solid wall and plasterboard surfaces and they can easily support as many books as can reasonably be fitted on them. With no bend, no wobble and no sag.

We have put some of our products through some additional extreme testing - Please take a look at the photos of these at How Strong?
